Making Easter Special

Easter was here and we decided there was no way we would stay at home in the name of resting since it was a break from work. Granma was in our mind, having not seen her in a while. We took advantage of this period. When you visit, you really do feel like you’ve done a time warp. Like you being transported back at least a handful of decades, if not more.

When you go to Rome, do as the Romans do.  This quote was followed to the letter, as we wanted an upcountry vibe from a change of clothes to activities.

It was hilarious with this kind of outfits but definitely granny was so proud of how we embraced the whole idea of upcountry ambience.

Funny how we found this exciting, what we learnt. One of the most important things to remember while digging is, have a utility mapping carried out.

The Fire…

Starting a fire was quite an achievement. Chocking a little from the smoke and hair smelling like it but ‘hairspray got us😉

We felt compelled to actually experience the life, we really think its the village that steals your heart and imagination.

How we made tea, served it and the laughter was such a memorable moment to cherish and our children will probably have even fewer.

After the strolls, we sat down for some tea and what soothed us was the sun downer music and the sunset with obviously the cloud cover. We all know how the current weather is on and off.

All we did was laugh then go back to sipping our drinks. We are laughing knowingly because the anecdote is reflective of how life is comfortable, fun, real and eased up.

That was Fun

Sadly, we can’t paint a rosy picture of village life because a developmental economist sees much scope for development in such a village. But we do have some memories.

As your grandparents get older their memory fades faster. Take the time to sit with them and record their stories so they can be preserved forever.

Memories are what those lazy vacations at your grandparents leave you with. And that is irreplaceable.we told granny not to put on her teeth we needed her all natural. Thanks for the ride guys we really hope you enjoyed your Easter.
