Book Club Update At Cold Stone Creamery

As much as I hate the hot weather, my go-to solution for a chill space has always been cold stone since my college days (the timeline that I discovered the creamery exists). You can only imagine how stocked I was when they gave me one of their locations to host the March book club (which was on 30th) and many more to come.

Take this from me, there’s nothing as thrilling as having an ice -cream during a book discussion (discovery of the year). To its credit, the ice-cream list is extensive. I’m talking about various flavours, ice-cream cakes which we got to sample before the discussion began; the level of their hospitality was astounding huge thumbs up for that, I was impressed.

March book of the month was The outsider by Stephen King let me share the key points we agreed on.

  • The infuriating thing about the book was how half of it was so promising then everything
  • The Outsider paces better than that book and is a solid thrill ride the whole way through. It’s also a worthy addition to the Mr Mercedes series, although it can be enjoyed without reading the previous trilogy.
  • There were too many characters: cops, a district attorney, a savvy lawyer, the various witnesses, not to mention Maitland, his wife and his two daughters and the grieving members of the murdered boy’s family. But King has complete control over everything it felt controlled.

The discussion wasn’t like any other book club I’ve attended! Who knew that an ice cream experience would elevate bliss vibes. The thing that was amiss was a photographer to capture the ‘we’ moments but the next meet up has to be captured. Here’s to Cold stone creamery for the greatest support I’ve received from them so far, huge thank you!

Join us during the next session we will be discussing a psychological thriller book by Colleen Hoover on the 20th 0f April.

I LOVE BOOKS!!! Make sure you follow me on my socials. Thank you for visiting.
