A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy. THE RISK takes you back to the world of hot hockey players, feisty heroines, bro banter, and steamy scenes... Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right—I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d…

This book had me completely smitten!!!

When I first read about Brenna and her fierce attitude, I knew that I would be drawn to her and her back story no matter what it may be.

Reading a novel with no expectations is doing me justice, 1st book I’ve read of Elle Kennedy and I love her.

What the book is about:

Brenna! God I loved her character , she’s a uni student, has a past that needs to be long forgotten, she’s headstrong and utterly persevering.

A lot can be said about characters that have had an emotional past that prevents them from moving forward with their lives. Brenna is that strong individual that portrays that in a way that you find compassion towards her. But she also hides her vulnerability of needing someone to protect her and defend her. She needs no man in her life to demonstrate how strong she is but having Jake by her side is the one thing she slowly learns how to open her heart and let him in, even if it’s difficult for her to admit those feelings that bloom for Jake.

She is portrayed to be the bad girl till her vulnerable self illuminates on Jake Connelly. The story gets interesting both the love story and the hockey games.

I loved the book because:

All the relationships from father-daughter , roommates , random side characters , to the perfection of Jake and Brenna brought the realness of the book.

Elle Kennedy just made me fall for the enemy which is the Havard hockey team and friends and now more than ever I know that I can watch and legit enjoy a hockey game, so thanks a lot Elle.

The chemistry between Jake and Brenna was out of this world I loved it especially Brenna’s sarcasm it had me laughing out loud.

I didn’t dislike the book..

I will end this review by saying, I will obviously be reading more of of Elle Kennedy.
